We own and manage 30 bee hives, which are located within natural bushland on the estate.
The hives used are unique in design, in that, each hive can have its honey harvested with very little disturbance to, and stinging from, the resident bee population.
As the honey is harvested directly from each hive without the need to open the hive, remove each cell, scrape the honey clean and replace each cell, the process of honey harvesting is made a lot faster, safer and more hygienic.
The labour required is also significantly reduced.
